| Selection and Deployment of PBX for Retailer |
A
local retailer with several locations needed to replace its outdated
telephone system with a contemporary PBX that included Paging,
Voicemail and Remote Access as well as the traditional phone features.
The Retailer selected IS Domain to assist it with this process.
IS Domain worked with the Retailer to gather all of
their requirements from office and remote location staff.
The requirements were both functional and budgetary. The
requirements were then transformed into a Request for Proposal (RFP)
and criteria to "grade" responses from vendors. The RFP was
submitted to a list of pre-qualified vendors. IS Domain acted as
the single point of contact for the vendors and answered any questions
the vendors had with the RFP. The vendor responses to
the RFP were evaluated against the criteria and the list of
vendors was reduced to those that met the minimum criteria. IS
Domain organized delivery of presentations to the customer by the
vendor finalists that resulted in final vendor selection.
After vendor selection was made, IS Domain worked with the vendor to
plan the deployment of the new telephone system. IS Domain also
worked with the Retailer and coordinated training for all office and
remote staff.
The end result of the project was a very satisfied customer. The
chosen system exceeded customer expectations for both functionality and
budget considerations. All employees were fully trained on how to
use the new system, while turn-up of the system was on time, on budget,
with zero business interruption.

Managing a Data Quality Initiative
|
After
a major acquisition, a Fortune 500 company undertook a significant
process integrity initiative to ensure the acquired entity could be
integrated while performing its core business in a consistent and
efficient manner, with accurate asset data. At the same time,
federal mandates served as an additional incentive to dramatically
improve data through process improvement. Successful execution of
this project called for a project manager with technical experience and
outstanding leadership skills to work across organizational boundaries
to develop and achieve acceptance of the new process methodologies.
The company turned to IS Domain for this expertise.
IS Domain worked with the customer to develop a vision to achieve the
data integrity goals through process improvements. Our project
manager worked with system owners at both the Subject Matter Expert and
Director levels to assess integrity issues and gaps in business
processes that would comprise project objectives. After the
issues were identified, a comprehensive plan was developed. Our
project manager met daily with key stakeholders who supported
eight corporate databases to resolve, implement, and track 61 data
cleanup and business process re-engineering initiatives. This
effort resulted in 16 new processes to assist in the ongoing
maintenance of data within and across corporate databases. The
new processes were documented using existing corporate methodologies.
All new
process documents were accepted and published to the corporate library
for access by all users. The new processes were then implemented
across the corporation
This project resulted in a 96% improvement in asset data quality for
the customer while impacting more than 55,000 data elements. |
Deploying New Technologies

A
large enterprise undertook a massive effort to migrate access to its'
corporate systems to a newly converged network. The enterprise
wanted the migration to be transparent to all users thus eliminating
the need to retrain staff. The enterprise turned to IS Domain to
assist with this process.
IS Domain worked with
the Enterprise to augment the User Documentation for each of its
systems which was incomplete or sometimes non-existent. A test
environment was established and IS Domain worked with the Enterprise to
integrate each of these systems with the test lab which simulated the
new network environment. Test plans were developed to test all
functional aspects of the user interaction with the system. When
issues were uncovered, IS Domain worked with technical staff to revise
configuration of the network equipment to reduce the impact on the
user. During these tests, IS Domain performed traffic analysis of
the system to gauge its' bandwidth requirements on the new network.
The project was gauged a huge
success by the customer as the new network was rolled out in
stages across the enterprise with little to no impact to the users of
the systems deployed on the network.
